Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) places great value on its customers’ safety and wants to ensure that no Honda products running on the road could harm anyone. It announces that it will be recalling select units for two (2) matters, namely, High-Pressure Fuel Pump which may result to gasoline fumes and Steering Gearbox snagging, unusual sound, and vibration while turning.
HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL PUMP RECALL WHICH MAY RESULT TO GASOLINE FUMES
The High-Pressure Fuel Pump Recall includes select CR-V RS e:HEV E-CVT units from year models 2023 to 2024. These High-Pressure Fuel Pumps may have cracks on the Core B, which may result to gasoline fumes. This could result in the customer smelling gasoline while idling and driving.
HCPI announces that all 1,351 affected units shall be subject to inspection, and this is FREE OF CHARGE.
STEERING GEARBOX RECALL
HCPI is also issuing a recall for certain Steering Gearboxes for snagging, unusual sound and vibration while turning. Due to the decrease in grease amount in the worm gear, meshing area of the Electric Power Steering Gearbox during use, the sliding resistance in the meshing area increases and the torque fluctuation becomes larger while turning the steering wheel. This results in an unusual sound and an unsmooth turn from steering while turning or ‘sticky steering’ that might make the driver feel a sense of unease.
HCPI reports there are 5,505 affected units. Replacement parts and labor for this voluntary recall are FREE OF CHARGE.
