Truck Manufacturers Association Reports Stable 2025 Truck Sales, Sees Strong Growth Potential in 2026

The Truck Manufacturers Association, Inc. (TMA) announced 2025 truck sales performance based on consolidated industry data, reflecting the continued resilience and steady contribution of the Philippine truck sector amid evolving economic conditions.

Based on the combined data from the TMA and the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), total truck sales in 2025 delivered a stable performance, reflecting sustained demand from key sectors such as logistics, construction, manufacturing, and public services. The industry recorded sales of 6,783 units for Category III trucks, 3,690 units for Category IV trucks and buses, and 888 units for Category V heavy-duty trucks, highlighting the continued need for reliable transport solutions across varying payload requirements.

Compared with 2024, overall sales levels were largely maintained, signaling a steady market as the industry adjusted to normalized demand and inventory conditions, while remaining supported by ongoing infrastructure projects and consistent economic activity nationwide. Collectively, these figures highlight the critical role of commercial vehicles in enabling trade, mobility, and business continuity across the country.

Building on this momentum, TMA expressed strong optimism for truck sales in 2026, citing the successful achievement of industry targets in 2025 as a solid foundation for future growth. Continued government infrastructure projects, improving logistics demand, and increasing investments in fleet modernization are expected to further drive demand for trucks in the coming year.

“Having achieved our industry truck sales targets in 2025, we are confident about the positive outlook for 2026. With sustained infrastructure development and vibrant economic activity, our member companies are well-prepared to meet the growing demand for reliable, efficient, and innovative commercial vehicles that support the country’s development goals,” said TMA President, Robert Carlos.

In line with the sales announcement, TMA also formally announced its leadership for 2026, reaffirming continuity and strong industry stewardship. Vicente Mills Jr. of Hino Motors Philippines Corporation will continue to serve as Chairman Emeritus, providing guidance and strategic direction to the association. Meanwhile, Robert Carlos of Isuzu Philippines Corporation will take on the role of TMA President, leading the association as it advances its priorities in industry growth, road safety, and sustainable transport solutions.

As part of its renewed direction, TMA reaffirmed its commitment to promoting road safety and accelerating the introduction of environmentally friendly trucks in the Philippine market. The association continues to actively support local body application manufacturing and local parts suppliers, recognizing their vital role in strengthening the automotive value chain, supporting small and medium enterprises, and generating sustainable employment for Filipino workers.

“This year, TMA will take a more active role in participating on government programs and initiatives, particularly those focused on road safety, environmental protection and possibilities to strengthen local truck manufacturing. Our member companies have been continuously innovating their products, while integrating advanced safety features and greener technologies – to help support national objectives while delivering dependable transport & business solutions for Filipino businesses nationwide,” added Carlos.
