Mastering Skills, Leading the Future: Isuzu PH continues to elevate aftersales service through annual Skills Olympics

May 16, 2026, Biñan, Laguna – Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) once again demonstrated its commitment to world-class aftersales service excellence as it successfully held the 21st Isuzu Service Skills Olympics (ISSO), gathering the top-performing Isuzu dealer service personnel under this year’s theme, “Mastering Skills, Leading the Future.”

A total of 113 participants from Isuzu dealerships nationwide competed across the three categories – through rigorous written and practical competitions, the program evaluates and develops the competencies of Service Technicians, Service Advisors, and Parts Staff – assessing not only their technical knowledge, but also practical troubleshooting, vehicle inspection, customer handling, parts operations, and real-world service scenarios.

This year’s theme reflects IPC’s continued investment in continuous learning and skills development, emphasizing that mastery of technical and customer service skills is essential in leading the future of the automotive industry. As vehicle technologies continue to evolve and customer expectations rise, IPC remains focused on preparing its nationwide dealer network to stay ahead through continuous training, assessment, and improvement programs such as ISSO.

“At Isuzu, we understand that our customers depend on their vehicles every day for business, livelihood, and family needs. This is why we continue to invest in programs like the Isuzu Service Skills Olympics – to further strengthen the skills and capabilities of our service personnel nationwide. Through continuous learning and improvement, we aim to help keep our customers’ vehicles running at their best, minimize downtime, and provide them with the confidence and peace of mind they deserve every time they visit our dealerships,” said IPC Executive Vice President, Yasuhiko Oyama.

The competition featured three major categories namely Parts Staff, Service Advisor, and Service Technician, each designed to evaluate the critical skills needed to deliver excellent customer support and efficient vehicle servicing across the Isuzu dealer network.

Emerging as Champion in the Parts Staff Category was Frederic Luna of Isuzu Pasig, followed by Harold Valencia of Isuzu Quezon Avenue as 1st Runner-Up, and Eruel John Gamboa of Isuzu Bacolod as 2nd Runner-Up.

Taking home the championship title in the Service Advisor Category was Mark Louie Malipol of Isuzu Batangas. He was followed by Jonel Barrientos of Isuzu Iloilo as 1st Runner-Up and Charmaine Joan Almeida of Isuzu San Pablo as 2nd Runner-Up.

Meanwhile, the Service Technician Category was conducted as a team competition, highlighting the importance of teamwork, coordination, and technical collaboration in resolving real-world vehicle concerns inside the workshop.

Winning this years’ Service Technician Category were Rainer Morales and Marco Comora of Isuzu Alabang as Champions. Securing 1st Runner-Up honors were Alvie Jhon Valdez and Jay-ar Jumawan of Isuzu Butuan, while Francis Suarez and Royal Jazz Ganas from Isuzu Cagayan De Oro claimed the 2nd Runner-Up spot.

IPC also recognized Jereme Asilum of Isuzu Makati with the Top Service Technician Award for his exceptional individual performance throughout the competition. Meanwhile, Isuzu Cagayan De Oro was named the 21st Isuzu Service Skills Olympics Dealer Grand Champion for its outstanding overall performance across categories.

In his speech, IPC Vice President for Aftersales Mr. Hodaka Matsuda emphasized that excellent aftersales service remains essential in strengthening the overall Isuzu ownership experience for customers nationwide. “At Isuzu, our commitment goes beyond providing dependable vehicles. We continuously strive to deliver reliable, high-quality aftersales support that gives our customers greater confidence, convenience, and peace of mind throughout the life of their vehicles. Through programs like the Isuzu Service Skills Olympics, we continue to strengthen our service standards and ensure that our customers receive the best care every time they visit our dealerships,” Matsuda said.

As IPC continues to strengthen its nationwide aftersales operations and dealer network capabilities, customers can be assured that Isuzu remains committed to continuously improving its service standards across all dealerships nationwide. Through initiatives like the Isuzu Service Skills Olympics, IPC aims to provide every Isuzu customer with reliable support, quality workmanship, and greater peace of mind
